Why Substance Abuse is a Losing Bet

Image
Concerns over alcohol & other drugs being used/abused in young people Why drugs and alcohol use are not the wisest of decisions As i am spending time among younger people aged 18-40, I am observing their intake of alcohol and soft drugs.  I myself spent the last 20+years living a satvik life pure and free of all types of drugs and free of carcinogenic foods, and now being on the road as a nomad, I am thinking of why they use that, and how it effects our world. 'Why should they not', is maybe the better approach. 'Why they do is another one' - because it is available and the accepted thing to do.  Hey question: Does it help your life move forward? If you know the effect of alcohol are deterioration of brain cells, and any organ cells then why would you do it? But we all test the boundaries when we are young so I guess it is part of life. But can we start with education on a different level? And can we un-sexy the use of drugs as being non-cool as it kills directly (...

Rotterdam à la 2024 - Stronger, Better, Faster

Image
Back in Rotterdam and Wow, what a change has taken place in me !?! Stronger, Better, Faster Remember this slogan from the Million Dollar Man in the ‘90s?  It certainly applies to the version of myself after 18 years of personal development. When I left Rotterdam in 2007, I was miserable, lost, and plagued by bad relationships. I didn't dare stand up for myself, didn't know myself, and hadn't had any role models. How do you become a mature woman as a highly sensitive person with gifted characteristics?  From the 70s to the 90s, there was no role model for that. Now we see them: young people who know how to act from a conscious perspective and move forward with confidence and gentleness. We were the pioneers of the '90s as highly sensitive people, and through our development, they were able to move forward. As a Digital Nomad, I now travel because it suits me to innovate and not get stuck. Now 2024:  Now, in January 2024, from my temporary nomad home in Rotterdam North, I...

Novi Sad, Serbia, Grounded

Image
Against all planning life took me to Serbia 2 days ago. I find myself having a hard time leaving Sofia behind, as it has been the best grounding place for me up till now in life. But as life is full of surprises, in exploring my surroundings today i ran into an ancient oak tree forest. Trees of over 200 years old, from the 1700s welcomed me to this mysterious place in Novi Sad. They speak of things from the past, how I walked there 4 lives ago. How I was one of them always.. the Choosen One.. the ruler of the globe in Golden times.. I sit among them and the grounding is amazing, deep further and deeper then ever before.  As I walk into the park, the totem of 5 pillars wispers 'It was said that He would come, they would come'. When all were distraught, He would come and find us in this state and all would be better because there would be new ways and new means, all would become great again. Bringing hope.. Radiating the light.. I Ilona.. the name came to me yesterday...

Servië/ Serbia Nov 2023

Serbia by the Danube with Hungary  2 nov 7.42 Sitting by the Danube on the Serbian - Romanian border with the wild life nature park as my morning scenery... I am amazed .. After 2 days of travelling through the magnificent Lowlands of Serbia, crossing into the Highland and landing by the river that brings life to Hungarian nature, and crossed from Germany to Serbia, through Vienna, and winding endlessly, through countries to finally find its ending in the Black Sea on the eastern European coast. The mountain range of Hungary stretches out in front of me this morning, as I am pulled for a walk by her magnificent and dominant river. Its been a long time since i felt the wish to take a longer walk of more then an hour. But this river that harbours birds, marters and vegetation has a long winding story of many centuries and it speaks to my soul of old experiences in days gone by.  Finding my heart again in the East since August, has been an awe-inspiring experience. Al...

Bulgarije take 2

Image

Werkend reizen voor HSPers / Working & Traveling for Highly sensitive people

Image
